Urbanism in the reform of the Bernabeu

El New Bernabeu Is closer to seeing the light. A few days ago the project to reform the Real Madrid. The president of the white club, Florentino Pérez, has reached an agreement with the City Council of the capital. It is a less ambitious operation than originally planned, which included a hotel and a shopping center.

Special plan for the Bernabéu

What is the reason? We must look for it in the limits that urbanism imposes. The City Council does not contemplate an increase in buildability. In this way, they are achieved 6.000 square meters of public space where is the commercial area known as Esquina del Bernabéu. In addition, the flights of the facade are increased and the stadium grows in height to facilitate the layout of the roof. A Special Plan will be drafted, a simpler urban figure than that annulled by Justice. It must be approved and claims may be presented. The proposal is very prudent, but it is not free from vicissitudes.
